Mission Year, a programme run by the Act Network to attract talented people to work with inner city churches, launched at the beginning of September with 25 people living in 7 houses, working with 10 different churches across London. Teams are present in the following boroughs: Southwark (Peckham), Lambeth (Clapham South), Wandsworth (Battersea), Camden (Finchley Road), Tower Hamlets (Shadwell and Bethnal Green) and Richmond (Roehampton).

Team members are volunteering on either a full or part time basis. A key part of Mission Year is training, to equip people to effectively serve in their communities. The induction weekend included ‘getting to know each other’ time, training in mentoring and training on how churches can support the marginalised. The teams will continue to receive support and training throughout the year and we look forward to seeing the impact they will make in communities across London.
