Applications are now open for Big Venture Challenge 2015. The programme, delivered by UnLtd, ClearlySo and Shaftesbury Partnership, provides ambitious social entrepreneurs with access to finance, tailored business support and powerful connections. The 2013 and 2014 programmes each supported 30 social ventures to scale up their impact, and this time there will be 40 award winners.
Shaftesbury Partnership’s role is to support the ventures in building high-impact networks that will accelerate their scaling. We are using our own strong networks to introduce the BVC participants to the people they need in their networks. Investment and match funding is a key part of the programme, so among the most important connections we make are to the people that can help with the skills, expertise, knowledge, gravitas, and governance that investors want to see.
To apply for the programme, ventures need to have identified and proven revenue streams and an early track record of making sales, to be clear on their Theory of Change with demonstrable social impact, and they need to be based in England (with the majority of social impact in the UK). We are especially interested in hearing from entrepreneurs based in the East and South West of England, and those focussing on young people, education and employment.
The application window is open until 11am on Tuesday 3rd February 2015. Click here to find out more and to apply. Good luck!
