Foodbank expands across London following the support of the Act Network

The Act Network has closely supported the development of Foodbank in London.  Foodbank equips churches to work together to collect non-perishable food from members of the wider local community and to distribute it to people in need.

The Act Network – in partnership  with Premier’s Love London campaign – has helped establish seven Foodbanks across London.  Foodbank equips churches to work together to collect non-perishable food from members of the wider local community and to distribute it to people in need. A further 8 are in process and over 40 churches expressed interest in the project. A London Foodbank Development worker has been appointed and is funded through Act Network.   The Act Network is also committed to providing match-funding for 5 new Foodbanks in Boroughs where material poverty and loneliness are most acute.
