Will Gallagher has taken up the post of Chief Operating Officer at The Shaftesbury Partnership. The appointment of a new COO confirms SP’s commitment to high quality execution and sound business management, both in our ventures, and in our internal operations. Will brings with him a broad range of experience – from the worlds of business, charities, and politics. Having spent the last 6 years running a business in the North West, Will also sits on the board of Stick n Step, a charity day centre for children with cerebral palsy, and at the last general election, he stood for Parliament in Alyn and Deeside, on the English/Welsh border. Will was educated at Cambridge, both as an undergraduate and at the Judge Business School there.
On his arrival at SP, Will said, “I am delighted to be joining Shaftesbury when it is growing so quickly. I’m really excited by Shaftesbury’s mix of social mission and commercial approach. I think it’s just what this sector needs, and I can’t wait to get started!
Simon Jebreel, who has been Acting COO, continues at SP, taking up a new role as Head of Strategy. He will be working particularly with our early stage ventures and concepts, to ensure that SP remains at the leading edge of social innovation in the UK.
