The Shaftesbury Partnership has welcomed its newest member of the team, Kat Davis. Kat is an Associate at On Purpose, the one-year leadership programme for professionals who want to transition to a career in social enterprise, and she is the sixth Associate to work at SP on a 6 month placement.
Our two most recent Associates, Parita Doshi and Polly Van Marken, both made very significant contributions to our work on very different projects.
Parita had a key role in setting up the operations of the FranchisingWorks Licence Fund, an innovative investment fund supported by Big Society Capital and Esmée Fairbairn which invests in franchisees taking part in the FranchisingWorks job creation programme. Parita says, “It's been a privilege to work on an exciting venture with so much potential and to be surrounded by a team thinking about such a diverse range of ideas.”
Polly worked on Social Business Partnership (SBP), ensuring standards and processes were in place to enable large businesses to bring social enterprises into their supply chains. She also worked on programme design and the development of a robust Business Plan for a new Shaftesbury venture, Retirement Transition Initiative (RTI), which aims to support people transitioning into retirement to improve social and economic outcomes for both individuals and communities. Polly said, “It's been wonderful to be part of the exciting new developments at Shaftesbury, and I look forward to keeping in touch with where the ventures go in the future.”
With so much going on at Shaftesbury at the moment, we know that Kat will also have the chance to get her teeth into a range of challenging but interesting projects.
