The Shaftesbury Partnership is working together with The Big Lottery Fund (BIG) in Scotland to look at how BIG Scotland can best support the scaling of innovative approaches in their Moving Past Challenging Times investment area. Moving Past Challenging Times seeks to address the two-way link between mental health issues and substance abuse, and entering homelessness and the criminal justice system.

The Shaftesbury Partnership will build on the work it has already done exploring scaleable solutions to the issues of people with multiple needs through its Looking Up venture, and partner Chris Mould said “Effective scaling and replication of what works are vital to social reform. The Shaftesbury Partnership is delighted to be working to share our expertise with Big Lottery Scotland”  Carolyn Sawers, Head of Policy at Big Lottery Fund Scotland, said “This initiative is an exciting opportunity for BIG  to learn more about scaling and replicating social interventions in order to maximise the impact of Lottery funding on communities in Scotland.”
